Unincorporated Cobb County

No single county residential collection rate

Cobb County does not provide one standard county-operated residential garbage service in unincorporated areas. Residents generally select a private hauler serving the exact address.

This makes the contract itself part of the comparison: pickup frequency, recycling, yard waste, bulk service, carts, cancellation terms, and added fees.

City of Atlanta

FY2026 published residential base rate: $432.26/year

The City’s rate schedule reviewed for this article listed a standard FY2026 residential solid-waste base rate of $432.26 annually.

Special service categories such as backyard collection or dumpster service can follow different schedules, so the standard rate should not be applied to every property automatically.

These figures are not perfectly interchangeable. One may follow a calendar year, another a fiscal year, another a property-tax cycle, and a private hauler may use monthly or quarterly billing.
